Bordeau Wine Lounge

The Bordeau Wine Lounge at The Rees Hotel Queenstown is dedicated to the enjoyment of fine wines, fine foods, and the comfort of good company.

Wines from world-renown chateaux of Bordeaux – including Latour, Margaux, Mouton Rothschild, Gruard Larose, Malescot St Exupery, and Lynch Bages – nestle with the best wines of Central Otago and New Zealand in the professionally managed, temperature-controlled wine cellar servicing the Bordeau Wine Lounge.

The Rees Culinary Series presents: Paritua

We are thrilled to introduce Paritua as our featured wine partner for our Winter Edition Winemakers Dinner this July.

Paritua Vineyard is located in Bridge Pa Triangle wine region of Hawke’s Bay, on New Zealand’s North Island. The site is all gravel soils and gentle contours, surrounded by hills and blessed with long, lingering summers and clear, crisp winters… exceptional conditions to create exceptional wines.

Paritua is known for crafting elegant, expressive wines that reflect both place and precision. Their portfolio showcases a refined balance of structure and vibrancy, with a particular strength in Bordeaux-style reds and beautifully composed whites.

Every bottle of Paritua wine comes from grapes grown on this special, single vineyard, organically farmed site.

Jason Stent joined Paritua in 2008. As Chief Winemaker his passion is creating wines that have a sense of place that respect the varietal nature and the terroir in which the vine is grown.

In the kitchen, True South’s Executive Chef Trent Watson returns to collaborate with Jason, bringing together food and wine in a thoughtfully curated menu designed to complement the wines and elevate the winter dining experience.

We invite you to experience Paritua and Stone Paddock wines – wines that not only reflect a distinctly New Zealand style, but also Jason’s passion for quality winemaking.

The food was excellent, the view from our table remarkable, the service impeccable. But the wine service stood out above all. Ashish, the sommelier, set a high bar for wine service, rivaling the chateaux of Bordeaux and the castellos of Tuscany.
